We’ve built Herts Heating Repairs: one heating enquiry, one local engineer

We’ve just launched Herts Heating Repairs, a simple way for Hertfordshire homeowners and landlords to ask about a boiler repair, service, replacement or gas safety certificate, and hear back from one local Gas Safe registered engineer.

When a boiler stops in November, nobody wants to spend the evening reading directory listings or filling in the same form five times. You want one person who covers your area to ring you back.

So we’ve built Herts Heating Repairs. You say what’s wrong with your heating, add your postcode, and we pass it to one local heating engineer who covers your part of Hertfordshire. They call you back to talk it through. It’s free to ask and there’s no obligation.

Here’s what it does, how we built it, and why it looks the way it does.

Why we built it

Search for a heating engineer in most Hertfordshire towns and the first page is mostly directories and comparison sites. Plenty of them pass your details to several firms at once, so the phone rings with people competing for the same job. That’s annoying for homeowners, and it’s no better for the engineers paying for those enquiries.

We wanted the opposite: one enquiry, one engineer, and a page that’s clear about what happens to your details before you send anything.

What it covers

  • Boiler repair. Cold radiators, no hot water, a fault code or a boiler that keeps losing pressure.
  • Boiler servicing. The yearly service that keeps a boiler running safely, and that many manufacturers need to keep the warranty valid.
  • Boiler replacement. For when the old one keeps failing or no longer suits the house. An engineer can visit and quote.
  • Landlord gas safety certificates (CP12). Every landlord in England needs a gas safety check each year for each rented home, and tenants must be given the record. We think this is the most useful page on the site for landlords with a property or two.

It covers Ware, Hertford, Hoddesdon and Broxbourne, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross, Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage, Hitchin and Letchworth, and Enfield just over the border.

How it works

  1. Fill in the record. Choose the job, add your postcode and describe what’s happening in your own words. It’s two short steps and works on a phone.
  2. We pass it on. Your enquiry goes to one Gas Safe registered engineer whose area includes your postcode. Nobody else gets it.
  3. The engineer calls. You talk it through, arrange a visit if needed and agree any price directly with them.

One thing the site is careful about: it’s an enquiry service, not an emergency line. If you smell gas, the National Gas Emergency Service number (0800 111 999) is at the top of every page, and the site says plainly that the form isn’t for gas leaks.

How it’s built

  • A design based on a boiler logbook. The enquiry form is laid out like a service record, with numbered sections and carbon-copy steps. It’s meant to feel familiar to anyone who has had a boiler serviced, rather than like another generic lead form.
  • Fast, static pages. Every page is built ahead of time and served from Cloudflare’s network, so it loads quickly on a phone with one bar of signal in a cold kitchen.
  • Privacy first. You agree to your details going to one engineer before you send. The form is protected against spam without a puzzle to solve, and analytics only load if you accept them.
  • Useful without sending anything. The pages explain what to have to hand, such as the boiler make and model, any fault code and when it was last serviced, and what common symptoms usually mean. A radiator that’s cold at the top usually needs bleeding; cold at the bottom can point to sludge.

Built to be found

People don’t search for a brand when the heating goes off. They search for “boiler repair Ware” or “gas safety certificate Hertford”, or they ask an AI assistant. So the site has its own page for each service and each group of towns, such as boiler repairs in Ware, with the answer in the first few lines and structured data that tells search engines what each page is about. Safety information is checked against official sources before it goes live.

Herts Heating Repairs uses the same approach we use for clients: a clear job for the page to do, honest copy, fast pages and search built in from the start. If you run a trade business in Hertfordshire and want a website that brings in enquiries rather than just sitting there, get in touch.
